Trish Christakis is an award-winning sports anchor, reporter, and host based in Miami with NBC. She has covered South Florida’s major professional teams for five years, including the Miami Heat, Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins, Florida Panthers, and Inter Miami CF, establishing herself in one of the country’s most competitive sports markets. Her reporting also includes coverage of marquee events such as the NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Final, Formula 1, and international soccer.

 

She has also contributed to CBS Sports during her time in South Florida and is featured across multiple platforms for her work in both sports and community storytelling. Her reporting extends into human-interest coverage, with a focus on animal welfare and local shelter advocacy.

 

That work includes widely viewed collaborations with Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy and Miss Peaches, generating over 10 million views across platforms and helping amplify awareness around animal adoption.

Internationally, Trish has been featured in Esquire Greece, including a cover story highlighting her work as a Greek-American sports journalist. She has also presented at the Gazetta Awards in Athens, Greece, recognizing standout athletes and coaches on a global stage.

 

A graduate of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, she is passionate about storytelling at the intersection of sports, culture, and community. Proud of her Greek heritage, she is committed to representation in media and mentoring the next generation of journalists.

 

Outside of work, she stays active through soccer and sand volleyball, travels frequently to Greece, and remains deeply involved in the Greek community through philanthropy, education, and mentorship, while also advocating for animal welfare and women-led businesses.

 

After being a 2012 PanHellenic Scholarship Recipient, Trish remained involved with the Foundation as an active member of the Alumni Board. She returned in 2018 to serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the Awards Ceremony & Gala.
