TIM TASSOPOULOS

President & Chief Operating Officer, Chick-fil-A, Inc.

In 1977 Tim Tassopoulos began his career at Chick-fil-A as a restaurant team member. In 1983 Tim joined the Support Center staff as a Business Consultant, and took on the primary responsibility to help solve one of the company’s greatest business challenges – evolving Chick-fil-A restaurants from a mall concept into free-standing locations. During his tenure at Chick-fil-A, Tim served as Director of Field Operations, Vice President of Operations, Senior Vice President of Operations, and Executive Vice President of Operations. In 2016, Tim was appointed President and Chief Operating Officer and led the company’s senior leadership team, the Executive Committee. Tim retired from Chick-fil-A in December 2023, after 46 years of service.

Tim graduated from Oglethorpe University in 1981 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science and holds a Master of Business Administration Degree from Georgetown University, Class of 1983. Passionate about youth and education, Tim is a member of several academic and youth development boards. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees at Oglethorpe University, The Westminster Schools, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta, and the Tull Charitable Foundation. He is a former member of the Board of Advisors at Georgetown University McDonough School of Business, Board of Trustees for Hellenic College and Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology, and also the Advisory Board of the Atlanta Area Council for the Boy Scouts of America.

Tim is an active member of Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church in Marietta, Georgia. He is a former Parish Council member and has taught high school Catechism for over 40 years. He currently co-teaches a monthly young adult class. Tim is an Archon of the Ecumenical Patriarchate - Order of St. Andrew, an Archangel Michael honoree of the Metropolis of Atlanta, the 2017 Aristotle Award recipient from the Order of AHEPA, and the Hellenic Heritage Achievement Award recipient in 2018 from the American Hellenic Institute.

Tim is a native of Atlanta. He is married to Maria and has two sons, Luke and Nicholas.
