The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation Welcomes New Members to its Board of Directors

The PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation is pleased to introduce three new members to its Board of Directors. Chairman Robert A. Buhler , with the guidance of the Board, invited Ted Argeroplos , President and CEO of AMA Systems, Peter Bartzis , President and CEO of Devanco Foods and Doretta Mistras , Managing Director at Goldman Sachs. The Board voted to add these outstanding members based on their leadership abilities, business acumen, strength of character, and dedication to the PanHellenic, even prior to being formally appointed as Directors.

Peter Bartzis is President and CEO of Devanco Foods, a leading Italian Beef and Gyros manufacturer. Mr. Bartzis has actively served on PanHellenic’s Advisory Board for over twelve years and is a founding member of our Scholarship Society at the Scholarship 100 level.
“Chris Tomaras was a mentor and a great friend. I am truly honored to now directly help his Foundation grow.”

 

Doretta Mistras is a Managing Director in the Healthcare Investment Banking Group at Goldman Sachs. Ms. Mistras has been a generous supporter of the PanHellenic, and for the past two years she has kindly donated her time as a mentor at The Hellenic Initiative/ PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation Mentoring Luncheon.
“I greatly look forward to working with other like-minded individuals to help the Foundation reach even more young Greek Americans across the nation, while thinking of new, innovative ways to promote the wonderful mission of the Foundation.”

Ted Argeroplos founded AMA Systems in 1994, an International Global Trading Company in Maryland. Ted, along with his wife Demetra, have actively served on PanHellenic’s Advisory Board for three years, and are involved in several other charitable organizations throughout the United States.
“I am very honored to be part of this elite group of individuals that will help to mentor and support our deserving Greek American students in their future endeavors.”

Peter, Doretta, and Ted will be joining a dedicated Board consisting of Chairman and Trustee Robert A. Buhler , President and CEO of Open Pantry Food Marts of Wisconsin Inc. and E&K Land, LLC; Treasurer and Trustee John G. Manos , President of Bank Financial; Secretary and Trustee Athan P. Sotos , Principal of Sotos Law Offices P.C.; Tassos Chronopoulos , President and CEO of The Tassos Group, LLC; John W. Galanis, Partner at Galanis, Pollack, Jacobs & Johnson, S.C.; Demetrios L. Kozonis, Founder of Delko Construction Co., Inc.; Dr. George I. Skarpathiotis, Medical Director of George Skarpathiotis M.D. S.C.; John T. Sotos, Owner of Play18 Chicago; Anastasia Svigos , Attorney at Svigos Mediations and faculty at John Marshall Law School; and Yanni A. Valsamas , COO of Autoagent Data Solutions, LLC.

Chairman Robert Buhler said of the newly-appointed members, “The PanHellenic’s profile is becoming more nationally known, with many more Hellenes from throughout the United States attending our Gala, and contributing significantly. Besides adding exceptional Chicago talent like Peter Bartzis, we are delighted to have a New York presence with Doretta Mistras and a Maryland presence with Ted Argeroplos, added to our Board. We will continue to build our Board, and Advisory Board, by adding exceptional national Hellenes who are passionate about education and helping Greek College students.”
