The applications are in with record number submissions!
Chicago, IL – The January 31st submission deadline has passed and the applications are in. The Foundation’s Academic Committee will soon begin to evaluate all of the applications based on diverse criteria to ensure well-rounded recipients. Our committee evaluates applicants on their grade point average, extracurricular activities, dedication to Hellenism, letters of recommendation, financial need, and several additional standards. We can’t wait to introduce you to our 2018 recipients!
Our applicants are among the most exceptional Greek American undergraduates in the nation. Study disciplines include STEM, pre-med, the humanities, music, fine arts, economics, business, computer science, and many other fields. The Foundation received applications from students attending exceptional universities, profiling the broad national scope of our mission. Applicants hail from many different states across the nation, including Illinois, California, Washington, Arizona, Maine, New York, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, to name a few.
A PanHellenic award goes beyond a scholarship—our recipients join a community of peers, scholars, Greek Americans and philhellenes who not only want them to succeed, but help them create a better America through education and Hellenism. All applicants will be notified of the results by April 30, 2018. We commend all of our applicants for taking the time to submit an application, as well as their commitment to Education and Hellenism—καλή πρόοδο και καλή τύχη!
A total of $250,000 in scholarships will be awarded on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the Hilton Chicago. We are proud to have Pete Zervakis and Trish Christakes as our Emcees at the Awards Ceremony and Gala event, both of whom are previous PanHellenic award recipients, and are currently in broadcasting for NBC and ABC, respectively. Stay tuned for many exciting announcements including Alumni weekend details as well as our Paradigm Award Honoree—you don’t want to miss it.
