PanHellenic Statement Regarding COVID-19
Chicago, IL – Thank you for being a crucial part of our success and community for the last two decades. As the Foundation is continuously committed to transparency, we wish to update you on our initiatives and plans for the coming months.
Our Board and staff are closely monitoring the rapidly changing developments associated with the COVID-19 virus. We encourage everyone to follow the guidelines and orders of all state and federal officials, as are we as an organization. To ensure safety and social distancing measures, our staff are working remotely from home, and all committee and governance meetings have been moved online to virtual communication.
Although we are currently unable to gather in-person, we are tirelessly working on application evaluation, Awards Ceremony & Gala planning, as well as contingency planning.
The PanHellenic fully intends to award $250,000 in scholarships this year, as planned. The evaluation process is currently underway, and applicants will be informed of their award status this Spring. In light of the current COVID-19 circumstances, there may be a delay with our April 30th notification target, but we are doing the best we can to complete this process and notify applicants as soon as practicable. Please direct any questions regarding our Scholarship Program to our Director of Scholarship, Peter Korbakes.
Awards Ceremony & Gala
As of right now, we continue to plan for the 2020 Awards Ceremony & Gala that is set to take place on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Hilton Chicago. The PanHellenic is closely monitoring this fluid situation and all directives from government officials regarding large group gatherings and will keep you updated should our plans change.
Thank you for your support during this challenging time. Wishing everyone strength, faith, and above all, health.
