Navistar is currently looking for an Intern to work through the Summer 2023.

 

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Team at our Huntsville Alabama facility is an integral part of Navistar operations. Accountable for the sourcing, installation, and commissioning of equipment used in the manufacture of our products. In this role, the candidate will work alongside the AME team and be assigned tasks that directly impact the success of expanding our manufacturing footprint in Huntsville.

Responsibilities


Potential Projects:

  • Assembly line layouts

  • Creating scope of works for production assembly equipment

  • Working with equipment suppliers to manage open items and timelines

  • Maintain overall project timelines

  • Design and procure assembly fixtures and tools

  • Benchmark industry to determine best assembly solutions

Minimum Requirements


  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree


Additional Requirements

 

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B or F-1 status)


Desired Skills


  • At least Sophomore standing for undergrad at the time of application

  • Able to work at least 12 weeks (starting the end of May or early June through August)

  • Applicants should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Increased consideration will be given to those pursuing Mechanical or Industrial & Systems Engineering

  • Talented, high-energy problem solvers who are self-starting and comfortable with ambiguity

  • Have great computer skills - PC proficient (Microsoft Office including Project)

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD

  • 3D Modeling Experience (Siemens NX preferred)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Great attention to detail

  • Team oriented – willing to work with others inside and outside your department
