Job Description & Position Overview
This position will work with our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) team. This team is responsible for the development and integration of Navistar’s workforce and supplier diversity strategies as well as fostering an inclusive work environment where all employees feel a sense of equity and belonging.
Location: Leslie, Illinois
Responsibilities
This intern responsibilities will include:
Supplier data validation
Interact with suppliers for pertinent information
Work in Procurement internal system(s) to update supplier information
Work cross functionally between People & Culture and different departments
Research DEI and Supplier Diversity trends and benchmarking
Monitor DEI and Supplier Diversity mailboxes
Develop Employee Resource Group (ERG) scorecard
Complete external surveys in a timely manner
Minimum Requirements
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
Additional Requirements
Must be able to provide housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required – For certain positions (Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information)
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B or F-1 status)
Desired Skills
At least Sophomore standing for undergrad at the time of application
Able to work at least 12 weeks (starting the end of May or early June through August)
Previous applicable internships
Self-starter
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Strong Excel skills
Graphic design skills are a plus
High level of computer skills (Microsoft Applications and Internet)
